- WES was designed with a nautical theme.
- The first group of students to attend WES picked the mascot – Go Explorers!
- The signal flags in front of the library spell MEDIA.
- The signal flags in front of the gymnasium spell GYM.
- The signal flags in front of the cafeteria spell CAFE.
- Look up at the overhead lights when you’re walking the halls of WES. They are the same type used on ships.
- The benches in the main hallway are meant to look like the bow of a ship with wooden planks.
- Our cafeteria is full of nautical touches!
- The floor is designed to look like the ocean.
- The wall at the entrance to the cafeteria is designed to look like waves.
- The ceiling of the cafeteria looks like an ark.
